Waud Capital Partners, the Chicago private-equity firm founded by Reeve Waud in 1993, has raised its biggest fund, pulling in $1.05 billion in investments to close on a fourth fund this month.

This latest fund attracted more than twice as much money as the third fund, which drew $487 million in 2011. Since its inception, the firm has raised about $2 billion, including Waud’s own personal investment dollars.
