James Kaigler Appointed Chief Executive Officer of Regency Hospital of Hattiesburg

Alpharetta, Georgia, November 21, 2003–Regency Hospital Company is pleased to have James S. Kaigler, FACHE join the company as Chief Executive Officer for its Regency Hospital of Hattiesburg operation. Mr. Kaigler is a seasoned healthcare executive with more than twenty years of experience in hospital management including holding the roles of CEO and COO within major regional healthcare organizations. Mr. Kaigler has a strong background particularly relating to physician relations, customer/patient satisfaction, construction management and cost control through utilization management.

He will be instrumental in the success of our hospital in Hattiesburg,” Laughlin continued.

Prior to joining Regency, Mr. Kaigler served as President/Chief Executive Officer of Memorial Hospital located in Gulfport, Mississippi. While overseeing a staff of over 2,000 employees, Mr. Kaigler was able to improve patient satisfaction by implementing a customer service program that saw great success and improvement. In addition to the customer service program, Kaigler successfully improved medical staff relations by conducting surveys, holding meetings and doing informal interviews with the medical staff. These efforts brought about a significant increase in hospital relations and productivity among the staff.

Mr. Kaigler served in the United States Air Force as Captain in the Medical Service Corps. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Mississippi and a Master of Health Administration from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis Missouri.

Jim Kaigler is Board Certified in Healthcare Management and is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). He served as ACHE Regent for Mississippi and Chairman of the Heart Walk of the American Heart Association in 2002. Mr. Kaigler served as Campaign Cabinet in 2001 for the United Way of South Mississippi and Chairman of the Legislative Committee of the Mississippi Hospital Association in 2002.
